E-scooters in Campo Grande: JET and Whoosh, what they cost, where to ride and where to park

You can rent an e-scooter in Campo Grande, the capital of Mato Grosso do Sul, from JET, whose app in Brazil is Go Jet, or from Whoosh: the two firms that Agetran, the city’s transport and traffic agency, has authorised in a trial that began on 7 July 2026. You must be 18, and each app shows its price before you ride. Agetran has opened the city’s cycle lanes to e-scooters on trial, and JET’s scooters top out at 20 km/h. Park only at the points your app shows, and never in the strip of pavement kept clear for people on foot.

Which e-scooter apps work in Campo Grande?

Two operators rent out stand-up e-scooters in Campo Grande:

  • JET, through the Go Jet app, since 7 July 2026.
  • Whoosh, in its own app, authorised from 2 October 2026.

Both run under Agetran’s Portaria 04 of 19 June 2026: a temporary, experimental scheme the city can revoke at any time, with no exclusive rights. The city sets each operator’s area, the zones where riding or parking is restricted or banned, and how many scooters it may run; the operators set their own prices. JET’s authorisation, signed on 30 June 2026, was extended in October for 90 days, from 28 September to 26 December 2026. Whoosh’s, signed on 30 September, runs for up to 90 days. Agetran has not published the areas or caps it approved.

JET started with 400 scooters in the Centro, Jardim dos Estados and Vila do Polonês and on stretches of the Parque Ecológico do Sóter, the Prefeitura (the city government) said at the launch; on 2 October JET put its fleet at about 600, A Crítica reported. The same day Agetran’s director-president, Ciro Vieira Ferreira, told Campo Grande News that Whoosh would start in the same area as JET and that a tender (licitação) should follow in early 2027.

How much does electric scooter rental in Campo Grande cost?

Each app shows the price before you start, and neither operator publishes a Campo Grande rate. At the launch on 7 July 2026 the Prefeitura gave JET’s prices as from R$0.99 to unlock and from R$0.39 a minute, with packs of minutes and a monthly subscription in the app; check the app for today’s rate. Whoosh may hold up to R$25 on your card when you start.

Where can you ride an e-scooter in Campo Grande?

Brazil’s national rule, CONTRAN Resolution 996 of 2023, puts e-scooter riders under the same traffic rules as cyclists and lets the local authority open three kinds of place to them. Agetran has opened one so far: its Portaria 03 of 17 June 2026 lets e-scooters share the cycle tracks and cycle lanes it manages, on trial for 180 days from 18 June (to mid-December 2026), which it can extend. It sets no speed limit in numbers.

WhereWhat the rules sayWho says it

Pavement or pedestrian areaOnly where allowed, at up to 6 km/hNational (CONTRAN Resolution 996)
Street with a limit above 40 km/hNot allowed, unless the city opens it after an engineering studyNational (CONTRAN Resolution 996)

JET’s scooters top out at 20 km/h, and on stretches of the Parque do Sóter they run slower, the Prefeitura said at the launch. Each operator must keep its scooters to the area Agetran approved, by geofencing; Agetran has not published those areas, so check the app.

The Parque das Nações Indígenas, the state park on Avenida Afonso Pena, has rules of its own. Imasul, the state environment institute that runs it, bans motorised bikes and tricycles inside, and lets bikes ride for leisure on its 3 km cycle path at no more than 10 km/h. Its regulation, an Imasul ordinance of 2012, doesn’t mention e-scooters.

Riding where it isn’t allowed is a medium offence under the Brazilian Traffic Code (Código de Trânsito Brasileiro), fined R$130.16; riding on a pavement where it isn’t authorised is a very serious one, with the fine tripled: R$880.41. Agetran’s Portaria 03 adds no fines of its own.

Where to park a JET or Whoosh scooter

End your ride at a parking point your app shows. At the launch the Prefeitura said scooters must be left there without blocking pavements, pedestrian crossings, accessibility ramps or vehicle entrances.

  • Whoosh: end the ride at a “P” on its map. Anywhere else costs R$40.
  • JET: end the ride at one of the points in the Go Jet app and photograph the scooter there to finish. JET said it had about 340 points in the city on 2 October 2026, A Crítica reported.

Since 16 September 2026 a city law, Complementary Law 564, bans leaving an e-scooter or a dockless shared bike in the faixa livre, the strip of pavement kept clear for people on foot, and lets the Prefeitura mark no-parking zones on pavements and in busy pedestrian places. The operator must remove a scooter left in the wrong place, and the city can seize it and fine the operator.

Where to find JET and Whoosh scooters in Campo Grande

At about 23:40 local time on Sunday 25 October 2026 the map of Campo Grande showed about 930 standing scooters: 700 JET and 230 Whoosh. That is a late-night snapshot, not the size of either fleet, and scooters on a ride don’t appear.

On the municipal boundaries of IBGE, Brazil’s statistics institute, every one stood inside Campo Grande, and all within the urban perimeter on the Prefeitura’s Plano Diretor map data. They stood in 15 of the city’s 74 bairros (districts) and two of its urban regions: about 440 in the Centro region and 500 in Prosa. The Centro bairro had about 350, Veraneio 250 and Mata do Jacinto 115, about half of them Whoosh’s.

JET’s own list of its busiest places, as A Crítica reported it on 2 October 2026, starts with the Parque dos Poderes, above all Avenida do Poeta, then the Bioparque Pantanal, the Vila Morena cultural space beside the Parque das Nações Indígenas, the Sóter and Praça do Rádio Clube.

The map shows Go Jet and Whoosh: each Whoosh scooter’s charge and range, and each JET scooter’s charge. It shows no prices, parking points, zones or hours; the apps do. JET and Whoosh also run in Curitiba and Recife: see e-scooters in Curitiba and e-scooters in Recife.

The buses and the city’s bikes

Consórcio Guaicurus, which runs Campo Grande’s buses, mentions no rule on scooters on the pages we read. Don’t take a shared one aboard: Whoosh charges R$40 for carrying its scooter on a bus or in a car or taxi, and Go Jet’s terms forbid carrying its scooter in any vehicle.

JET also rents e-bikes: about 40 went into service in mid-October 2026, at the same prices as its scooters and in the same Go Jet app, Campo Grande News reported on 23 October. Agetran’s scheme covers both. The map doesn’t show the e-bikes.

We found no city bike share running. A municipal law of January 2024, Law 7.197, set up a docked system for an operator still to be chosen; in October 2025 the news site Primeira Página reported that no station had been built and no operator picked.

Did you know?

  • 170,000 trips in under three months. JET said on 2 October 2026 that riders had made more than 170,000 trips since 7 July, nearly 2,000 a day of just over 2 km each, and that about 60,000 people had signed up, A Crítica reported.
  • Campo Grande had scooters before JET. In December 2022 UFMS, the federal university, signed an agreement with Flip On to put scooters at three points on its Cidade Universitária campus from 2023, starting with a six-month test. Flip On’s owner said it already had points at the airport and in the Parque das Nações Indígenas, UFMS reported.
